Well, I have made it to 21 years.
Here are 21 things I have learned in my 21 years in this big old world
- Family is the best thing. And good healthy relationships require work, and grace. Lots of grace.
- Doing things (within reason) that scare you, can really expand your comfort zone and teach you to trust God.
- Coffee is great, but nothing beats a good cup of tea.
- School doesn’t get easier, but it gets more tolerable.
- Focusing on finding friends “your own age” while important, is limiting yourself to beautiful friendships with people of all ages.
- I love summer, forever and always.
- Almonds are not good for me.
- Loving people, while incredibly hard sometimes, is always worth the character building.
- Taking time to rest is so important.
- Small goals are just as important as big goals.
- It is the simple things that make daily life fun.
- Preparation is a vital skill, you cannot just sit and wait for things to come.
- Take opportunities that allow you to breathe deep & laugh. It will keep you sane.
- Spending time with God daily, can change your entire day for the better.
- Being bitter at someone or something only hurts you in the end.
- Persevering through the hard things gives you the satisfaction of finishing strong.
- You can learn a lot from volunteering in kids ministry.
- Being flexible in life is freeing.
- Road trips are best tackled with a good playlist.
- Sitting out in the sunshine for a while can breathe new life into you.
- It is by the grace of God that I get to live today, because tomorrow is not a given. So I’m going to enjoy today, because it is something I will never get back.
Sincerely,
21 years young
